The story goes that Walt Disney was a young man with very little money, living in an unheated attic during a cold midwestern winter. A little mouse became his friend and roommate when Walt* shared leftover crumbs with the little rodent. Walt named him “Mickey Mouse” and began to sketch him in a cartoon style…and (eventually) a star was born.
